The
Gathered Mothers Group

whose holding this space?
I’m Chelsea — therapist, mother, and facilitator.
I’m formally trained in counselling, with a body-aware, somatic and mindfulness-based approach. That means I pay attention not just to what you’re saying — but what’s happening underneath it.
It’s safe here to cry, to feel rage, to say the thing you’ve never said out loud.
And it’s my role to make sure that when you do, the room can hold it.
This isn’t just a catch-up.
It’s a professionally facilitated space for mothers who want something deeper.

what led me here...
I've lived a pretty colourful journey, my mental and physical health struggles leading me study counselling, to become the help I so desperately needed in my darkest times.
Just when I thought I'd been through it all, I had two babies under two, one of which scheduled for heart surgery.
It was the hardest season of my life. And when people asked how I was, I said, “We're good, just getting through it.”
I wasn’t good. I was isolated. Overwhelmed. I didn't know who I was anymore, or who I was becoming.
This group exists because I lived the need for it.
And I now have the training and the drive to hold it.
questions?
Can I still attend if I can't make all 10 sessions?
The most ideal scenario is that you can make each session, but life happens. Sessions will not be recorded so your attendance is for your own benefit, if you miss a few no stress.
How many mums will be joining?
I have capacity to hold about 10 women, to keep things intimate, but diverse.
Will I be put on the spot?
This is a camera's on, active participation group. If you deal with anxiety about these kinds of calls... same. Let's be honest about that, meet us wherever you feel comfortable and lean into the judgment-free zone. I will support you throughout and never push you to share when you aren't ready.
Is this group therapy?
I'm a registered counsellor, so my business meets all the legal requirements to hold group therapy sessions. However, I am not treating this as a clinical space, and the frequency and flexibility of this space would not support those in crisis.
Is this suitable if my baby is present?
Absolutely! Maybe consider getting friendly with the mute button if you have a particularly loud child, but we are all mums here, we get it.
What if I feel triggered, worse, or extra emotional?
If something in session hits you hard, reach out. I am trained to handle the big emotions here, and once the mothers group comes to a close, my books are open for 1:1.
Can I see you privately as well?
My code of ethics usually steers clear of seeing clients in both group and individual settings at the same time. Given this group is not formal therapy, this is something we can discuss on an individual basis.
Who is this group not suitable for?
Gathered mothers is for mothers. Whilst pregnant women are mothers already in my mind, the content we are exploring is more specifically for those raising young children.
This group is also not suitable to anyone in crisis, and does not replace individual therapy.
Should that apply to you, please reach out to me directly or contact a relevant crisis support line.
